Legionnaires Disease Found In Brazil Extended are Facility

Brazil, In. – The Clay County Health Department is investigating Hutsonwood Nursing Home in Brazil after a resident tested positive for Legionnaires’ disease. The Health Department says that typically Legionnaires bacteria can grow is areas with a lot of water, especially warm water like extended care facilities, cruise ships, hotels, and even hospitals. Hutsonwood officials say they are conducting water tests, providing bottled water to residents, staff and visitors and installing filers in showers and ice machines.  The Health Department says there is no threat to the public.
