Rockville, In. – Thursday the Park Heritage Resource Officer notified the Sheriff’s Office that a comment had been made by a 6^th grade student that he had a gun in his backpack.  The comment was made on the school bus.  School officials searched his backpack and locker.  No firearm was found. The student was on a field trip to Racoon Lake when deputies interviewed him finding he had no firearm with him.  A visit was made to the child’s home and found the student had no access to firearms.  The School Corporation has initiated the process of expelling the student for 1 year.
