Vigo County, In. – The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office advises residents to be aware of a phone scam. They say residents have received calls from a person identifying themselves as a deputy sheriff from the warrants a citations division. The caller says that they have a warrant for their arrest for missing jury duty or other reasons. They then say they can avoid jail time by paying them money. The sheriff reminds you that the Sheriff’s office never calls and asks for money, If you receive such a call hang up.
