Indianapolis, In. – Republican Mike Braun, Democrat Jennifer McCormick and Libertarian Donald Rainwater the Candidates for Indiana’s Governor participated in a debate last night in Indianapolis. Each candidate presented their plan to help Hoosiers keep up with inflation. It was brought out that the Braun campaign has released advertising attacking McCormick’s record contained digitally altered material. When asked about it Braun said that, “We immediately responded to that and did it as quickly as you can, to take it off.” Jennifer McCormich was elected Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction as a Republican. She’s now running for Governor as a Democrat. When asked if she’ll be on board with the Democratic Party’s platform this year because of her history she replied, “Yes, the party and I are aligned to a lot of issues, and they have been very receptive. I am proud to be a Democrat.” The debate wrapped up with with McCormick saying she understands the importance of the position and specifically brought up freedom. Braun concluded saying he has found the American dream in Indiana but knows there is work to be done. The next governor will become one of the highest paid governors in the country when the new governor takes office next year. The governor’s salary will be 65 % high than what Governor Holcomb was paid.
