Terre Haute, In. – At the Vigo County Commissioners meeting they decided to deny the change in zoning to allow a Dollar General Stare to be built in Prairieton. The Commissioner said the reason the voted down the rezoning request was the significant community feedback including emails, phone calls, and a petition from the Keep the Prairie in Prairieton citizens group.  Residents of Prairieton have been campaigning to keep Dollar General out of their community saying the store would have negative impacts on property values, safety concerns, and affecting neighborhood quality of life.
