Vigo County, In. – As cold weather moves into the Valley many families are worried about heating bills. The Western Indiana Community Action Agency is offering assistance to low income families in Vigo, Clay and Putnam Counties. The Assistance program can provide a one-time payment that will put the customer into a moratorium which will keep their utilities from being disconnected December 1st through March 15th. Applications for assistance are currently being accepted. The easiest way to apply is by calling 211.
