Terre Haute, In. – At the recent meeting of the Vigo County Capital Improvement Board Mayor Brandon Sakbun raised the subject of selling the Indiana Theater.  After phase one of the renovations of the 100-year-old building is completed, Sakbun sugested the CIB should look for a private sector buyer. Phase One of the renovations is expected to cost over $3.6 million. President of the CIB, County Commissioner Chris Switzer, said the board needs to look at the contract they have with Greg Gibson, who sold it to the CIB for $1, to make sure that what Mr. Sakbun said, we can appropriately do. Later in the meeting the mayor said that those who complain on social media about how the CIB is handling the property should “come to our next meeting with a letter of intent to buy the building and a check.”
