Plainfield, In. – Four Nonprofit organizations in the Wabash Valley will benefit from grants from the Duke Energy Foundation. The funding, which totals more than $100,000 for organizations statewide, will help provide hunger relief and address other crucial community needs ahead of the holidays. “These organizations are consistently there for Hoosiers when hardships arise,” said Rick Burger, government and community relations manager for Duke Energy Indiana. “There’s often an increased need for their services during the holiday season, and I’m so grateful that we’re able to collaborate with them and boost their positive impact on our local communities.”  Duke Energy Foundation awarded $5,000 to the YMCA in Clay County to purchase backpacks and other back-to-school items.  The United Way of Knox County received $11,000 to help local food banks.  The Providence Food Pantry in West Terre Haute $2,000 to purchase food for the pantry and The West Vigo Community Center $4,000 for holiday dinners and food baskets.
