INDIANAPOLIS — Rain and snow are possible as you travel across Indiana this holiday week. Forecasters say temperatures will drop Wednesday night, with rain turning to snow in northern Indiana.
This cooler trend is expected to continue through the weekend.
“Areas like Kokomo, South Bend, and Fort Wayne could see rain mixing with snow by Wednesday night into Thursday,” said Jason Puma, a National Weather Service forecaster in Indianapolis.
Travel conditions will be clear today, and with the ground still warm, Puma said there are no concerns about slick roads on Tuesday.
“We likely won’t see the ground freeze until temperatures drop into the 20s, which won’t happen until Thursday night into Friday morning,” he said.
Puma also noted a chance of snow in Indianapolis on Saturday, though accumulation is expected to be minimal. With winter still weeks away, a La Nina pattern is predicted to bring a wetter season for Hoosiers.
