Terre Haute, In. – Two of the area’s top TV personalities, WTHI-TV’s Anchor Patrece Dayton and Chief Meteorologist Kevin Orpurt were told last week that their jobs are being eliminated.  Dayton has been with WTHI-TV for 37 years and Orpurt for 42 years. Allen Media, the owners of WTHI-TV began making personnel cuts last year when Sport Director Rick Semmler was let go followed by several behind the scenes staff following the stepping down of General manager Todd Weber. Media scuttlebutt says that Allen Media is going to a regional operation with the General Manager, News Director and other staff operating Allen Media’s stations in Ft. Wayne, Lafayette and Terre Haute. WTHI-TV is Terre Haute’s first television station and one of the earliest in the state coming on the air in 1954.
