Vigo County, In. – About 11:30 Saturday night the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office was advised that a vehicle was stuck on the railroad tracks on Mill Dam Road.  As deputies responded they were advised that a train had hit the vehicle.  The investigation revealed that a southbound truck had turned off Mill Dam Road while crossing the tracks and drove westbound down the tracks before coming to a stop. At that time the occupants of the truck bailed before an eastbound train hit the truck.  The train engineer said he saw the headlights of the truck and tried to slow the train but hit it going about 15 MPH.  Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the accident.
