Edgar County, Il. – A teacher in Martinsville, Illinois has been charged with criminal sex assault on a student.  a victim between the ages of 13 and 17 while he was a teacher in the Kansas, Illinois Community Unit School District. 53-year-old Mike Lowery is charged with criminal sex assault on a student.  a victim between the ages of 13 and 17. The incident occurred when Lowery was employed as a teacher in the Kansas, Illinois School district before he was hired as a teacher at Martinsville, Illinois High School.   Currently the Martinsville School is in the process of removing Lowery from his job. A press release from the Kansas Police says that Lowery was the victim’s teacher and developed a relationship with her while he was a teacher at Kansas High School. While there he visited the girl in her home and sexually assaulted her, police said.
