Vigo County, In. – A line of thunderstorms rolled through the Wabash Valley Wednesday night producing high winds, hail and heavy rain.  It hasn’t been confirmed but officials believe a tornado touched down in New Goshen, a small community in the northwestern part of Vigo County.  The National Weather Service had issued a Tornado Warning for the area just before the damage was reported.  There was damage to houses, as well as downed trees and power lines. The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office is asking people to stay away from the area. After the storm first responders were on the scene going house to house to check on residents and to assess the damage. Duke Energy reports that over 1000 homes were without power in the New Goshen area.  The National Weather Service will likely survey the damage and make a determination on the cause of the damage. Two semi’s were blown over by the high winds at the Weigh Station on I-70 near the state line.  No injuries were reported.
