Holcomb’s Proposed Budget Would Boost State Police Pay

Statewide: – The base pay for new Indiana State Troopers could be going up as part of a proposed budget from Governor Eric Holcomb.In the budget unveiled this week, the starting pay would increase from $53,000 to $70,000. The move is meant to bring on new candidates amid a rash of recent retirements and staffing shortfalls.

State Police officials also said that there are $5,000 sign-on bonuses available for new hires who complete all their training by the end of 2023.
