Brazil-A business owner in Posey Township called the Clay County Sheriff’s Department to report the business had been burglarized and the suspect was still in the business.

The complaint was made just before 7 a.m. Thursday, from the business at 5773 W. U.S. 40.

After reviewing surveillance recordings, Brittany Southard, 25, of Boonville, Indiana, was arrested for burglary, Level 5 Felony; Theft, Class A Misdemeanor; and Criminal Trespass, Class A Misdemeanor.

The Brazil Police Department assisted with the investigation. The case has been forwarded to the Clay County Prosecutor for charging information.
