WASHINGTON – Yesterday, U.S. Representative Larry Bucshon, M.D. (R-Ind.-08) voted in favor of H.J. Res. 30, which passed the House by a vote of 216 to 205. This legislation would overturn a rule issued by the Biden Administration’s Department of Labor that enables retirement fund managers to prioritize Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives instead of financial returns when making investment decisions for Hoosier workers’ hard-earned savings – which is their fiduciary responsibility.
“Hoosiers put in years of hard work and effort to be able to invest their savings in a retirement fund that provides for them and their families after they leave the workforce. President Biden and his administration are endangering the retirement security of Americans by issuing a rule that allows retirement fund managers to prioritize investments that further woke political causes instead of maximizing financial returns for retirees. I am proud to support a resolution to overturn this rule, so Hoosiers can be certain that their retirement fund will be kept safe and not be jeopardized by a woke political agenda,” said Dr. Bucshon.
