Found in suspect’s car

Indianapolis – An Indianapolis man was arrested Wednesday, April 21, after fleeing from Indiana State Troopers on the east side of Indianapolis. At approximately 1:22 p.m., troopers assigned to the Indianapolis District All Crimes Policing Squad were patrolling the area of Washington Street and Emerson Avenue when one trooper noticed the driver of a maroon Dodge Challenger not wearing a seatbelt. The trooper pulled the Challenger over, however after initially stopping, the driver of the Challenger fled. Less than 1/2 mile after speeding away from troopers, the driver of the Challenger crashed into another vehicle, then into a field. The male driver ran from the crash into a nearby neighborhood. Troopers quickly coordinated a perimeter with Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officers. A short time later, a trooper spotted the suspect climbing over a fence in the back yard of a residence on Pleasant Run Parkway, and placed him in handcuffs. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash was not injured.

A subsequent search of the Dodge Challenger revealed Cocaine, nearly one pound of methamphetamine, Fentanyl, heroin, marijuana, a handgun and a rifle. The suspect was identified as 26 year old Oscar Hall IV of Indianapolis. Hall IV was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Hendricks County for Battery and Battery Against a Public Official. No force was used to take Hall IV into custody, however he was checked by paramedics on scene due to the crash and suspicion of narcotics use. The suspect was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Shortly after arriving at the hospital he was released to the custody of the Indiana State Police and transported to the Marion County Jail.

All crimes mentioned above are alleged and all suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court. Hall IV was arrested based upon probable cause of committing a crime, actual charges will be determined by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
