Three arrested after handgun crime

WASHINGTON- Three men have been arrested after a handgun incident in Washington.

On June 11 at approximately 12:04 AM, Officers with the Washington Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Dewey Ave regarding an altercation that had taken place. Officers discovered that the caller had been struck in the head with a handgun and that a round had been fired during the altercation. A WPD Detective and Crime Scene Investigator were called in to assist.

After further investigation, the Detective applied for and was granted a Search Warrant for a residence on Maple St. At approximately 06:25 AM, the Warrant was served by members of WPD’s Emergency Response Team and the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Strategic Response Unit. As a result, 29 year old Santos Momplaisir, 33 year old Harry Joseph, and 33 year old Ben Monesil were all arrested on charges of Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Recklessness, and Residential Entry.

This is the 6th shooting incident investigated by WPD in the last year and all cases have resulted in criminal charges being filed.
