BRAZIL – Clay County ATV drivers will probably have a new set of rules to follow if they want to drive on county roads this fall.
On Monday, the Clay County Commissioners passed on first reading a new ordinance that will replace one passed in 2005.
Sheriff Brison Swearingen and Clay County Deputy Prosecutor Zach Clapp summarized the changes for us.

Chief Deputy Eric Oberholtzer told the commissioners, “The 2005 ordinance is so outdated.”
The ordinance was passed on first reading Monday and will be revised before it can become law. The revised ordinance is expected to be heard at the commissioners’ August 7 meeting.
