VERMILLION COUNTY — A ban on burning will continue for 30 days

The decision was made at the Vermillion County Commissioners meeting on Monday  with the support of the Vermillion County Fire Chiefs, County Sheriff and County EMA

“Due to the continuing drought conditions there is an increased danger of wild fires caused by open burning of combustible materials and outdoor work that produces heat and sparks, The Vermillion County Commissioners urge all citizens of the county to observe caution when working outdoors on projects thar create a heat source and might possibly ignite a fire that can get out of control,” stated a news release. “If you have any questions contact your local fire departments for direction on how to proceed.”
