TERRE HAUTE, Indiana (DLC Media) –   This morning the southbound lane of US 41 was closed following an accident between a vehicle and a pedestrian. the pedestrian was hit by the vehicle while they attempted to cross the road.

The pedestrian was taken to Regional Hospital for their injuries.

US 41’s southbound closure caused vehicles to find an alternate route to avoid stopped traffic while the clean-up occurred. During this time school bus pick-up was also affected. One school bus, while attempting to avoid the closed southbound, went off of the road and into a ditch. there were children on the bus, however, no injuries have been reported.

The roadway has since been opened back up.
