Vigo County, In. – Wabash Valley Resources has received a conditional loan for construction of a new facility at their site near West Terre Haute. The new plant will produce ammonia from waste which will be turned into fertilizer. Wabash Valley Resources is in the process of getting permits and approvals prior to construction beginning in the next few months. The goal is for the company to produce up to 500-thousand metric-tons of fertilizer per year so Indiana farmers will no longer be dependent on imported fertilizer. Company officials say the construction should be complete in 2027. The plant will employ 125 full-time employees. During construction, there could be up to 500 construction workers.
