Vigo County, In. – Mainstream Fiber Networks presented a proposal to the Vigo County Commissioners earlier this week which outlined a plan to bring high-speed internet in southern Vigo County. Mainstream said they would bury or hang 145 miles of fiber optic cable which would serve up to 1,700 homes. The cost of the project is estimated at $9.1 million. Mainstream Fiber Networks would cover 95% with the remaining 5% coming from Broadland Equity, Access and Deployment program.
