Terre Haute, In. – The Terre Haute Redevelopment Commission has created a Tax Increment Financing district downtown for the area where new hotels will be built.  This TIF will be inside an existing downtown TIF area. The tax dollars raised will be used to fund community improvement projects. This action must still go through the Area Plan Commission and Terre Haute City Council then return to the Redevelopment Commission for confirmation. Also in their meeting the Redevelopment Commission also authorized the solicitation of quotes for a water line extension along Joe Fox Road, which runs parallel to Indiana 46 from Margaret Drive to New Margaret Drive, a project designed to support future growth in that area.
