Clay County, In. – Wednesday morning Clay County Deputies were called to investigate a report of an armed robbery at a gas station near Center Point on State Road 59. Workers told the deputies that a masked man entered, pointed a handgun at them and demanded money and left with an undetermined amount of cash. A short time later the suspect’s car was spotted and pulled over. The driver was identified as 36-year-old Raymond Shorter of Brazil. He was taken into custody and confessed to the robbery as well as the robbery of the Sunoco station in East Glenn that occurred on January 25th. In addition to charges in Clay County Shorter is facing charges of Armed robbery, pointing a firearm, and theft.
