GREENCASTLE, Ind. — DePauw University is cutting 56 full-time administrative positions and 17 part-time jobs as part of a restructuring for the Greencastle liberal arts school.
Officials say that no faculty or academic programs are being eliminated.
Board of Trustees Chairwoman Kathy Patterson Vrabeck and President D. Mark McCoy sent a letter to the university community Tuesday saying they’re making the cuts because DePauw cannot sustain the number of employees that it has.
Vrabeck and McCoy also say DePauw will offer a voluntary retirement incentive plan for faculty and make changes to sabbaticals.
Fifteen of the full-time positions currently are vacant, as are two of the part-time jobs.
