CLAY COUNTY, Ind. – Work crews ruptured a gas line Monday afternoon near U.S. 40 and 340 around the Vigo/Clay County line.
A Duke Energy worker was stranded in the elevated bucket for a while due to the potential risk of sparking a fire. That worker had to climb down on a Brazil Fire Department ladder truck.
The Duke Energy crews were working on putting up a new pole and power line when the gas line was punctured.
The area was marked for underground utilities.
About 20 Vectren customers were impacted by the gas leak.
