Police Release Names Of Those Involved In Fatal Motorcycle Crash

PARKE COUNTY, Ind – The Parke County  Sheriff’s Department has released more information into a fatal July 4th motorcycle crash.

Police say that it happened around 1:00pm, at the intersection of US 36 & Walker Ramp Rd.

According to the police report, multiple witnesses at the scene said that a motorcycle driven by 60 year old Jaime Balingit of Mooresville was eastbound on US 36 approaching CR 1050 E and slowed down to make a left hand turn.

Balingit was rear ended by another motorcycle driven by 58 year old Robert E Klein of Avon.

Both riders were thrown off of their bikes.

Klein was not wearing a helmet and was pronounce dead at the scene.  An autopsy will be performed later.

Police say that Balingit was wearing helmet.  He was suffering from minor bleeding in his mouth, and also sustained injuries to other parts of his body, including his knee, which had minor bleeding. He was also reportedly disoriented and was unsure what occurred, so he was transported to Hendricks Hospital for treatment.

An Indiana State Police accident reconstructionist was called in to help with the investigation.
