TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Official ground breaking ceremonies were held this morning in downtown Terre Haute for the new convention center.
It’s something officials hope will create a huge economic boost to the community.
The $32 million project will be built in between 8th and 9th streets and Wabash and Cherry.
It will include a parking garage and hotel.
Mayor Duke Bennett says that construction activity could start as soon as 90 days from today.
Plans currently call for construction to be finished in 2021.
