CLAY COUNTY, Ind – Great Dane Trailers in Brazil held a special dedication ceremony Friday morning to commemorate the company mascot “Champ”.
Champ stands about 20 feet tall and weighs about 800 pounds. He stands along US 40, at the main entrance to Great Dane Manufacturing in Brazil.
Built in 1953 for a trailer dealership in Orlando, Champ was moved to Savannah, Georgia, in 1960.
After being restored in 2002, Champ was moved to the Brazil location.
A second restoration was begun in November 2018 which has now been completed.
The Great Dane plant in Brazil was built in 1974.
