INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Holcomb says he’ll roll out his 2020 legislative agenda next month:

Holcomb isn’t offering many clues what he’ll ask legislators for in his final session before he stands for reelection. He says his agenda will track what he’s described as the five “pillars” of his administration: economic growth, infrastructure, workforce development, government efficiency, and fighting the opioid epidemic.

Holcomb’s drug czar Jim McClelland announced his retirement on Thursday. Holcomb pulled the former Goodwill Industries C-E-O out of retirement in 2017 to lead the newly created Office of Drug Prevention, Treatment and Enforcement. Deputy director Douglas Huntsinger will replace him.

Holcomb is addressing the annual Bingham Greenebaum Doll Legislative Conference for a fourth straight year on December 4. The last three governors have addressed the conference at least once, and then-Governor Mike Pence used his speaking slot in 2014 to announce his agenda for the coming year. Holcomb hasn’t used the conference for the rollout in the past, and isn’t saying where or when he’ll announce his wish list.
