VIGO COUNTY, Ind – Wednesday evening around 7:30p.m. Indiana State Police stopped a vehicle in the area of Poplar and 25th Street for speeding 46 mph in a 30-mph zone.
The driver 56-year-old Manuel D. Akers, of Terre Haute, was arrested after a search of his vehicle and because he failed a certified test.
Police found 2.3 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Akers is being held without bond on charges of:
- Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony 6
- Possession of Paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor
- Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, Class C Misdemeanor
- Operating a vehicle with a schedule I or II controlled substance, Class A Misdemeanor
