HAMMOND, Ind. — False Advertising, that’s what a Crown Point woman is accusing Fair Oaks Farms of in a new lawsuit.

Paula Honeycutt said she bought their chocolate milk once a week because on the label it said the milk came from ‘happy, healthy, well-cared for animals.”

The lawsuit says video evidence from Animal Recovery Mission, a Florida-based animal rights organization, showed otherwise.

The organization caught workers abusing baby cows in late 2018 when they sent an investigator undercover to work at Fair Oaks for four months.

Honeycutt is one of they many consumers suing Fair Oaks, its dairy products and distributor for more than $5 million, said the Northwest Indiana Times.

The Newton County prosecutor’s office charged three men who were accused of abusing the young calves.
