Alleged Car Thief Leads Police On Chase With BAC Of .204%

VERMILLION COIUNTY, Ind – Wednesday morning around 2:30 a.m. Vermillion County Deputies tried to stop an SUV with no taillights on SR63 near North Vermillion High School.

The driver refused to stop and led police on a chase until running over stop sticks near Perrysville.

39-year-old Stacy Upton of Perrysville was arrested. She had a blood alcohol level of .204%.

While Upton was being booked into the jail, the owner of the vehicle that Upton had been driving arrived at the jail to report the vehicle was stolen from a home in Newport.

Upton is now facing multiple charges.
