Terre Haute, In. – Weekend fires in Terre Haute leave two homes damaged. Both fires occured on Saturday. Terre Haute Firefighters answered the first call Saturday morning around 7:20 at 1733 North 12th Street… a vacant home with no power or utilities. The structure is at a total loss. According to reports, squatters had been in and out of the home for a month. The cause of this fire remains under investigation. Fire crews then answered another call about a fire at a home on Sycamore street. One person was home at the time but they got out safely. Nobody was hurt. The home suffered moderate damage. The cause of that fire is believed to have been a wood burner.
