Vermillion County, In. – A police investigation into animal abuse in Vermillion County led to the seizure of three neglected dogs. County Sheriff Mike Phelps said the dogs were found in a house on Carpenter Avenue after deputies arrived to investigate an anonymous report of animal abuse and neglect. Deputies were able to look through the windows of the home, where they say they saw animals that appeared emaciated. They returned with a search warrant, and along with some help from staff from the Parke-Vermillion animal shelter, they removed three dogs which were in need of medical treatment.
