Dugger, In. – One person was found dead Wednesday after flames destroyed a home that used to be a church on East Church Street in Dugger. Sullivan County firefighters responded yesterday to the former United Methodist Church of Dugger. An adjacent home and vehicle also caught fire because of the intense heat. Last evening around 6:15, after the flames were finally out, investigators discovered a body inside. The identity of the person who died has not been released, and an autopsy has been scheduled. Meanwhile, the investigation into the cause of the deadly fire is underway with assistance from the Indiana state fire marshal.
